Veterans Against Alzheimer’s

Mil Resource Radio with Hosts Les Davis and Linda Kreter presents:

Veterans Against Alzheimer’s

Shawn Taylor
Shawn Taylor comes from a family who serves, and has deep personal family experience with the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease. It is a rare family that isn’t or won’t be affected in the future with the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s or other neuro-degenerative conditions. Shawn is Founding Board Member of Veterans Against Alzheimer’s, a division of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, and speaks movingly of her involvement and commitment to increasing awareness.

While thought to be primarily a disease of aging, Alzheimer’s is an insidious condition affecting many in increasing numbers. It robs the person of not only their memories, but is costly emotionally and financially for the extended family.

In the veteran population, there is heightened risk for those who’ve experienced TBI and/or PTSD. So much more is needed in clinical research to begin to better understand the increased risks to veterans (and their families) about Alzheimer’s. Learn more at www.VeteransAgainstAlzheimers.org.
